About Japan-America Society of Northwest Florida

The Japan-America Society of Northwest Florida provides comprehensive cultural, educational, and business programs designed to strengthen professional and personal connections between the Gulf Breeze, FL community and Japan. As a private, non-profit 501(c)3 organization, JAS of NWFL delivers specialized services across three core areas: educational initiatives that introduce Japanese language, culture, and customs to local schools and communities; cultural programming featuring exhibitions, performances, and workshops celebrating Japanese traditions and contemporary life; and business development activities including networking events, seminars, and conferences that help organizations establish meaningful partnerships with Japan. The Society serves both individual members and organizational stakeholders seeking to deepen their understanding of Japanese culture and business practices. With a successful partnership with the University of West Florida's Japan Center and affiliation with the National Association of Japan-America Societies, JAS of NWFL stands as the only active society of its kind in Florida. The organization facilitates dialogue between Northwest Floridians and Japanese professionals and students, creating pathways for cultural exchange and economic collaboration. Whether supporting Japanese exchange students, assisting non-native speakers pursuing educational opportunities in Japan, or helping local businesses develop international relationships, the Society provides essential infrastructure for building mutual understanding and goodwill between the United States and Japan.
