National Association of Japan-American Societies

The National Association of Japan-America Societies (NAJAS) is a private, nonprofit organization based in Washington, DC that serves as the coordinating hub for 41 independent Japan-America Societies throughout the United States and Canada. NAJAS delivers a comprehensive portfolio of public affairs, business, cultural, and educational programs designed to deepen understanding of Japan and strengthen U.S.-Japan bilateral relations. The organization facilitates an extensive network of programming that reaches over 100,000 participants annually through approximately 2,000 cultural, business, and educational events. NAJAS offers specialized programming including the Japan US Military Program (JUMP), Business Speaker Series, Geostrategy in the Grassroots initiatives, and the U.S.-Japan Future Forum. The organization also provides educational opportunities such as the Keizai Koho Center Teacher Fellowship and High School Diplomats program, supporting academic engagement with Japanese culture and policy. With a membership base of 9,900 individual members and 2,200 corporate members spanning business, diplomatic, political, academic, and security sectors, NAJAS represents the largest private network supporting the U.S.-Japan bilateral relationship in the United States. Operating from Washington, DC, the organization coordinates member societies, hosts annual network conferences, and maintains partnerships with government, academic, and business leaders committed to strengthening Japanese-American cooperation and cross-cultural understanding.
